On perçoit souvent Erasure quelque part à mi-chemin entre Depeche Mode avec lesquels Erasure partagent une conception dramatique de l'existence (et accessoirement les studios du label Mute Records) et les Pet Shop Boys, pour le côté ludique de certains arrangements ainsi qu'une certaine joie de vivre perceptible au travers des mélodies et des accords.
